Hello! Welcome to The DRS Zone blog. If you enjoy all things Formula One then hopefully this is the place where you will be able to find some non-biased view points and opinions.
As for me, I have been following F1 since 1998. The very first race I tuned into here in the UK was the 1998 Australian Grand Prix. Many will remember it being the race that David Coulthard slowed down just before the chequered flag to hand the race win to his McLaren team mate Mika Häkkinen. Since then I have watched most races either on TV or from the grandstands.
If I was put on the spot and asked who I support, I would have to say McLaren, although I do follow all of the British based teams and want them all to do well. Driver wise, its hard to have a favourite because they come and go however of the current field if I had to pick I would say I support Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris and George Russell. Despite my likes and allegiances I like to think that I can keep a non-biased opinion.
I would like to add a disclaimer at this point that all views and content posted on this site are my own and I am in now way affiliated with any Formula One team and I do not claim to be a journalist.
Outside of F1, I work in IT. Aside from this my other hobbies include gaming, occasionally streaming on Twitch/ YouTube and Herpetology, which is the study of Reptiles and Amphibians. Many years ago I worked in a zoo, now I only keep Reptiles at home. For those interested I keep Dwarf Reticulated Pythons, Mandarin Rat Snakes, Royal Pythons and Carpet Pythons. I have been fortunate enough to take my hobby abroad and visit some amazing countries to view their wildlife in their natural habitats.
A fun F1 related fact about me: A number of years ago I was interviewed for an IT job at Red Bull Racing and got to the final 2. Unfortunately I didn’t get the job, but it was a very cool moment going to the Red Bull factory in Milton Keynes for a job interview.
If you have got this far. Thanks for visiting the site, I hope you return and enjoy the content.
